VDISMR is working for mentally retarded since 1973. In past years, about 8200 students have been benefited from the various services offered by the institute like early detection, intervention, training, education, remedial training, vocational rehabilitation, Job placement etc. Presently more than 500 students are taking benefit of various services. The scientific and systematic training at VDISMR grooms the children to reach higher levels of expertise in singing, dancing and various other activities. This ultimately helps them to become self – confident & self –reliant.

Many of these children come from economically backward classes. Only a part of the costs/expenses are covered through government grants and recovered from the biological parents. Besides additional resources are required for specialized skills development and training. Your timely help will ensure that they have a brighter future.
