This Institution is established by Dr.A.V.Mehta in 1973 to provide various services to mentally handicapped and for prevention of mental retardation.

Training programme from daily living activities to vocational rehabilitation are given in this institution.

Infant to adult all are taking benefit of various services in this institution.

The mentally handicapped children having cerebral palsy, vision problem, hearing problem are also accepts by the institution, facilities for special training of these children are also available.

Services is started for slow learners in collaboration with normal schools. Remedial training and alternative educational programme helps to promote progress of such children.

Nearly 500 students are taking benefit on daily basis. Various units are conducted to provide various services.

Trained and dedicated staff is working enthusiastically to impart different training programme to different types of students.

Trained children of this institution have been placed at various job work and have become active member of family and society.

The student of this institution have participated in national, international sports and games and won gold medals and shields.

The institution is doing research in collaboration with prominent hospitals and other countries like Japan. Govt. of India gives many research projects to this institute.

Various units of this institute are recognized by various department of Maharashtra Govt., Central Govt., Income Tax Dept., Charity Commissioner, Mumbai University etc.

The institution is open for all cast, religion, and community people.
